In this painting, a space takes shape where the past and speculative futures collapse into a single vision. The title refers to a street in Brussels where the artist has never been: a place explored through Google Maps, reconstructed via screenshots, and digitally recomposed to find architectural proportions and rhythm. This manipulation emerges in subtle details. The tilted tree develops branches only on one side, a clue to a filtered and reassembled image. On this basis, the artist grafts fragmented figures and enigmatic devices that oscillate between nostalgia and science fiction, evoking memories of a past that never existed. The figures, marginal with respect to the space, inhabit it as occasional passers-by, while the extremely horizontal format accentuates the centrality of the urban environment. Buildings and presences are not clearly recognizable: the image, supported by a precise composition, lives in a dimension of total obfuscation. The empty spaces and suspended narratives invite the viewer to enter the scene, to exist for a moment within this bizarre and luminous fragment.

Biography

Born in Koplik (Albania) in 1995. Grew up in the Dolomites. Earned a Three-year (2020) and a Master’s (2024) Degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Currently a recipient of an artist’s Atelier from the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. Lives and works in Venice.
