«I’d wanted to know why she was crying, before, and I managed to make her understand my desire mostly by repeating the words for ‘fire’ and ‘before.’ She hesitated for a long time and then started talking again. She said something about a house, but whether she meant it as a home or literally as a building I couldn’t have said; I heard street names and months; a list of things that could have been books or songs; hard times or bad weather, era, uncle, change, an analogy to do with summer, something about buying and/or destroying a red car. From her speech I composed various plausible stories, I composed them on the fly and so it wasn’t exactly that I didn’t understand: I understood by chords, I understood simultaneously in a plurality of possible worlds».

Biography

Born in Arzignano (VI) in 1997. Lives and works in Venice. She earned a First and Second-Level Diploma in Painting in 2023 and 2025 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
