Pick me up on your way down presents itself as an apparently orderly composition, built from boxes, books, and geometric shapes that alternate in different color saturations.
The visual rhythm is calibrated and lacks a single focal point. No element emerges as the protagonist, leaving the gaze free to move across the image.

The void of the boxes becomes the focus of the painting: a silent space, but charged with possibility. A space that suggests waiting, lack, or memory. The dense and colored surfaces contrast with the empty interiors, elevating absence to a primary component of the composition.

The title, taken from the song by Rick Roberts, introduces an emotional dimension. The gesture of ‘picking up’ along the path of a descent evokes the recovery of what has been left behind or forgotten. The boxes can then appear as containers of suspended experiences. The work opens a reflection on the relationship between presence and absence, between loss and the possibility of recovery.

Biography

Born in Conegliano (TV) in 2001. Earned a Second-Level Diploma in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 2026. He is currently a recipient of an artist’s Atelier from the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa.
