The work is an act of ‘grounding’, a site-specific reconnection intervention with the place that hosts it. Respecting the function of the room’s key element, the fireplace, the artist builds a device capable of generating a material and symbolic short circuit. The fireplace, usually the guardian of fire and the place designated for the destruction of what we want to discard, becomes a generative dimension. The heart of the work is, in fact, a ceramic tapestry. The fabric, traditionally linked to the domestic dimension and the intimate memory of inhabited spaces, is translated into a material that betrays its tactile nature but preserves its image. The process of creating ceramic passes precisely through fire. The destruction evoked by the burnt tapestry is suspended and fixed in time, transforming into a memory that can no longer dissolve. A tool that carries stories and memories thus survives precisely thanks to what should destroy it. The wallpaper placed between the fireplace and the tapestry is not just an ornament. The energy of the device propagates through the repetition of the decorative motif; the pattern continues and amplifies the narrative in the architectural space, spreading like fire.

Biography

Born in Castelfranco Veneto (TV) in 2000. Graduated in Figurative Arts in 2019 at the Michele Fanoli Art High School in Cittadella (PD). Continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 2023, he graduated in Painting. Currently enrolled in the two-year Master’s program in Decoration, Art and Public Space at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in Decoration Atelier B.
